What are your hours of business?
I usually work from 8:30am-4:30pm. Monday - Friday. I work from home so I am flexible. I am not always here during those hours, but my business number is a cell phone and all of my emails come to that phone. I try to answer all calls and emails during those hours. I do not answer calls after those hours or on weekends because I am with my family.
What is the best way to contact you?
Email is the best way to get me. My address is: tonya-barlow@hotmail.com All of my emails come to my cell phone so I am able to answer them very fast unless I am extremely busy. I do not always have enough service to talk on my phone, but I can always get emails.
Are you on Facebook or Myspace?
Yes! I am on both! I would love for you to send me a friend request. This is also a good way for you to get discounts. I often offer discounts to my "friends" on both sites.
If you are on MYSPACE click here: www.myspace.com/tonyabarlowjewelry and then send me a friend request!
If you are on FACEBOOK click here: www.facebook.com/people/Tonya-McClurg-Barlow/1303733426 and add me to your friends.
I also have a facebook page for my website. I would love for you to become a fan!! Click "become a fan!"
See you all there!!!
Do you offer any discounts?
Yes. There are several ways to get discounts.
1. Sign up for my newsletter. I send out a few discounts throughout the year, but you won't get the emails unless you register for my newsletter (on the right side of the home page). I do not send out very many emails.....I hate getting "junk" mail, so I don't do it to you either!
2. Add me to your friend list on MYSPACE( www.myspace.com/tonyabarlowjewelry )or become a fan of my website on FACEBOOK ( http://www.facebook.com/pages/wwwTonyaBarlowcom/45466532054?ref=share ). I will periodically offer discounts to my "friends" on these sites.
3. I do several types of parties. You can get discounts and/or free jewelry depending on the type you choose.
How do I order?
Ordering online is the fastest and easiest way to order. It is also the fastest way for you to get your jewelry. Just click on the picture of the item that you want, put in your initials in the scroll down section, and then click add to cart. You can continue shopping if you want something else, or checkout.
Can I call in my order to you?
I am sorry. I do not take orders over the phone. This is not because I do not care to speak to you, it is just too easy to make mistakes on the phone. I have all of my machines going so it is loud. The letter K starts to sounk like a letter J and a B like a D. I have made way too many mistakes trying to take them on the phone so I had to stop. If you are unable to order online, you can email me your order and call me with your credit card number. I also take orders via mail. I just have to have orders in writing.
Can I mail my order in to you?
Yes! I do take orders via mail. You can either write it, type it, or print it off of my website. Just be sure to add 7% tax and your shipping preference amount. The easiest way to get your order calculated correctly is to act like you are ordering online. Add items to your cart and add the initials. Click the checkout button. Enter your name and address and shipping preferences. You will come to a page that tells you to "print this page" if you are paying by mail. My address is on that page and it will tell you how much to send.
Do I have to have paypal to order?
No. I accept paypal, visa, mastercard, american express, and discover. When you get ready to checkout click on the checkout button. You will eventually get to 2 butttons. One says "checkout with paypal" and the other says "checkout". Just click the "checkout" button. However, if you do checkout with paypal they will email you a tracking number as soon as your order ships. That is a nice feature.
Can I pay you after I get my order?
No. I am sorry. I have had trouble in the past getting paid after the fact. Since all of my jewelry is personalized, I have to be paid up front. I am sorry for the inconvenience. I do take credit/debit cards and checks.
How long will it take for me to get my order?
My usual turn around time is 2 weeks. Each item is hand made so it takes time. In October I start getting VERY busy with Christmas orders. I will move to a 3 week turn around on Oct. 1st. I do have some rush options available if you need your order sooner.
Is there any way I can get my order sooner?
Sure. Click the "rush options" link. I have 2 options available for you to get your order sooner. I do all orders in the order that I get them. This is the only way to make it fair for me to put your order ahead of someone who ordered before you. You must add the rush option of your choice to your cart and pay for it in order for me to do your order early.
How much is shipping?
I use the Postal Service. First Class Shipping is $2.50. First Class with INSURANCE is $5.00. Or, you can pick up your order from me for FREE.
How can I track my order?
If you pay with paypal, you will automatically get an email that contains your tracking number as soon as your order is shipped. If you did not pay with paypal, you will not get a tracking number. If you still have not gotten your package after 2 weeks, email me and I can look it up from here. Please wait until 2 weeks after your order was placed to email me about it. It takes me a while to look it up and it may not have even shipped if it has not been 2 weeks.
What if my package gets lost in the mail?
I have been making jewelry for almost 8 years now. I have had 4 packages lost in those 8 years. That is not bad....unless it was your package!! They only way to protect yourself from loss or damage is to purchase the insurance option. I do not require you purchase insurance so I can keep your costs down. However, if you choose not to purchase the insurance and your package gets lost or damaged I can not do anything about it. Once it leaves my hands it is in the control of the post office. The ONLY way they will cover THEIR mistakes is if the package is insured.
Can I return my jewelry?
All sales are final on personalized items (anything engraved). I do my best to describe each piece, so please read the description before ordering. I will exchange the necklaces or bracelets (not pendants), but you must email me within 2 days of recieving your order to let me know that it is coming and why. You must also pay for the shipping back to me and then enclose either an addressed, postage paid mailing envelope back to you or $2.50 (first class) or $5 (first with insurance) for me to mail it back to you. Please also stick a note in there explaining what you are exchanging for and any money if there is a price difference. There are NO refunds.
What if my initials are wrong on my jewelry?
Initials on a monogram go in this order: first name, last name, middle name. Please pay attention when you are entering your initials and then double check to make sure they are correct before submitting. If you submit the correct initials and I engrave them wrong, I will replace the item. If you submitted incorrect initials, you will need to purchase new pendants or earrings. You will be emailed a copy of your order that will contain the initials you submitted. If you notice that they are wrong after you submit the order please email me. If I have not started on your jewelry I can change them for you!!
What if I order the wrong length?
You can easily measure to see what length you will need. Just take a string or ribbon and put it around your neck or wrist where you would like for it to hang. Measure that string. Just remember the beads will be a little shorter than your string. Not in length, but in the way they hang. A 7.5" string will have more loose room on your wrist than a 7.5" beaded bracelet. If you order a special length (one that is not offered online) and you want to exchange it because you measured wrong there will be a $2 restringing fee because I will have to remake your bracelet. There is no restringing fee on stock sizes!!
If you get your order and realize that your ordered the wrong length, email me within 2 days of getting your order. Then, send it back to me and I will exchange it for you. You will have to pay to send it back to me and then for me to send it back to you again. You can enclose a stamped mailing envelope for me to use or send me $2.50 for first class or $5 for first with insurance return. Also, please enclose a note explaining what you are exchanging for and any money owed if there is a price difference.
What if my jewelry breaks?
If your necklace or bracelet breaks, just send it back to me. I will repair them for you at no charge (unless there are pieces missing) no matter how long you have had them! You will be responsible for shipping back to me and then back to you so please enclose a postage paid mailer or $2.50 for first class or $5 for first with insurance.
If there are pieces missing, send it back to me and I will be happy to take a look at it. I will let you know how much it will cost to get it all back together. It usually is not much, I do not charge labor...just for the missing pieces!
This does not include the pendants on the necklaces, bracelets, or earrings. I will replace them (wood & Acrylic) if they break within 30 days of your order. After that, they are not covered. I have hardly ever had any that have broken....they are really quite tough!!!
The shells are not covered at all.....they are like glass. They do not break under normal circumstances, but if you drop them they will break. I can not be responsible for that.
On all returns, you are responsible for shipping both ways.
What is a monogram?

Instructions for Traditional Monogramming
|
|
Nothing improves the look of a gift more than including a traditional monogram on the front. We offer three traditional monogramming styles -- circle, interlocking, and roman(not pictured here). Both styles feature an enlarged center initial, which should be the recipient's last name. So, for example, Susan C. Miller would have a traditional monogram of SMC. And, Denise E. Phillips would have a traditional monogram of DPE. One, two, or three letter monograms are allowed with the Circle Monogram, but one or three letters for the Interlocking Monogram.

What fonts do you offer?
To see a complete view of each letter of each font look for the questions like: "what does the inerlocking monogram look like?"
Interlocking Monogram (most popular!) will do 1 or 3 letters- shown in most pics online
Roman Monogram- will do 1, 2, or 3 letters or a whole name. if you choose 2 letters they will be the same size.
Circle Monogram- will do 1, 2, or 3 letters. I do not use this very much, but some love it! Least popular monogram.
Curlz- Will do 1 letter or whole names. popular!
Script- used for writing out whole names
Old English- used for 1 letter or whole name. I do not use this one much.
Greek- used mostly for college sorority jewelry.
What is the most popular font?
The most popular font by far is the INTERLOCKING MONOGRAM font. It is the one that is shown on most all of the pictures. It has the 2 smaller letters on the side with the large last name in the middle. It will do 1 or 3 letter monograms. This is the font that comes standard. YOU WILL GET THIS FONT UNLESS YOU REQUEST A DIFFERENT ONE!!
The only thing I do not like about the interlocking font is the letter " i ". The i looks a lot like the j, but I can not change it. If you have an " i " in your name and don't want it like this you need to choose a different font! Here is what each letter looks like on the left side, middle, and right side.

How do I request a different font?
Put the name of the font you want in the specail instructions box. If no font is listed, I will use the interlocking monogram (most popular). That is what most of the pictures online are done in.
Please be sure and put the correct name for the font you want. Some people put "script" which is cursive writing when they mean "interlocking monogram". The script looks very ugly as a monogram, but I would do it if asked!!! Just double check!!
What font is in most of the pictures?
Interlocking Monogram. It will do 1 letter or all 3.
What does the Interlocking Monogram Look Like?
This is by far the most popular font I use. It is in most of the pictures on my site. The only thing I do not like about it is the letter i looks like a j. I can not do anything about this......If you have an i initial and do not like the i shown below, you will need to choose a new font.

What does the Roman Monogram font look like?
The roman font can be used to write a name or for a monogram. The last name will be larger than the 2 on the side in the monogram. This font looks great on all pieces I offer EXCEPT the dark wood. The engraving turns out dark and doesn't show up too well on the dark wood. Looks great on light wood, colored wood, shells, and acrylic.

What does the Curlz font look like?
The curlz font is really cute! It will do 1 letter or a name. It will not do a 3 letter monogram (large in middle). It also does not show up very well on dark wood.
Aa Bb Cc Dd Ee Ff Gg Hh Ii Jj Kk Ll Mm Nn Oo Pp Qq Rr Ss Tt Uu Vv Ww Xx Yy Zz 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0
What does the Script font look like?
Below is the SCRIPT font. It does not make a very pretty monogram, but it does write a name very well!! I would recommend this if you want to put names instead of just initials on something.

What does the circle monogram look like?
This is my least favorite of the monogram fonts. I do not sell very much of it, but some people love it! I find it hard to read. It looks much better on the acrylic than on the wood in my opinion. If you want to order this font, I will be happy to do it for you!! It will do 1 letter, 2 letters, or 3 letters.

What does the Old English font look like?
This is the old english font. I do not use it very often, but it is available if you like it. It can do 1 letter or a whole name.

What does the Greek font look like?
The greek letters are used mosty for colleges. I have done a few sorority necklaces with these letters, but that is about it. They looked very cute!!
